Hey Team Avatar! We’re back for our monthly update and excited to share with you all we’ve been working on at Magpie Games HQ for Avatar Legends! We hope you’ve been having a good month and playing amazing games! Let’s dive in!
The All-Star Actual Play
You’ve been waiting for it so patiently and we are so thrilled to announce that the All-Star Actual Play is ready! We had an incredible cast of the epic Avatarverse alums Jennie Kwan (Suki in Avatar: the Last Airbender) and Dante Basco (Zuko in Avatar: the Last Airbender) as well as the ever lovely Becca Scott (Good Time Society, South Park)! To round out our party of heroes, we also invited the incredible Ify Nwadiwe (Critical Role) to join the group! Our own amazing Curated Play GM Lili Sparx led the game!
The Actual Play has two parts; a session 0 and the play session. Both are available for your viewing in the following update that is for backers only! These videos will remain available only to backers until their public release in April!

We’re still looking for amazing GMs to run Avatar Legends with us at Gen Con! Team Magpie will be headed to Gen Con in Indianapolis Indiana this coming August! If you joined us last year, we hope to see you again this year! To that end, we’re looking for GMs to come run Avatar Legends and some of our other incredible games like Root: The RPG, Masks, Bluebeard’s Bride, and more!

As we mentioned in our last update, shipping has mostly been completed, save for Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. We are working with these backers via email. If you are from these regions and you have not received an email, please use the form and we will get back to you shortly! We are currently waiting on an update from our fulfillment partner on the status of these regions.
Replacements are going out steadily. There has been a brief delay, especially in the EU, due to moving product from one fulfillment partner to a new partner. That shipment has arrived this week and replacements will be going out promptly now that our new partner has the product. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we dealt with this intense process due to so many damaged and missing packages. Thank you for your kindness and patience as we worked through these issues!
Coming Soon: Republic City
Many of you have asked, what comes next? We can tell you the answer: Republic City!
In Republic City, you’ll find a treasure trove of details on the capital city of the United Republic. Descriptions of its many districts, with attached plot hooks and characters, fill the book’s pages; it’s the perfect tool for those who love the setting and for those who want to set their games in Republic City’s endless possibilities! What’s more, there are write-ups of five legendary NPCs who play roles of special importance in Republic City, including Mako and Bolin! The book also provides mechanics for some of Republic City’s most significant features, including Pro-bending, vehicles, and mecha, as well as three whole new playbooks you can use in any setting and a suite of new techniques. Everything is capped off with an adventure set in Republic City all about the underground tunnel racing scene!
Avatar Legends: Republic City will be our first setting toolkit; it’s got everything you need to bring Republic City to life in your campaign, or to add mecha, pro-bending, and vehicles to any Korra Era campaign you’re running! Preorders will begin this spring along with a special surprise! We’ll let you know when it launches by posting an update here! Stay tuned!

If you backed Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game on Kickstarter, you already have everything you need to play the game! That said, the Starter Set contains a bunch of new and exclusive content: an adventure booklet with The Pirates of the Crimson Sails (Aang Era) and The Burning Fuse (Korra Era), the exclusive blue Tui and La dice, and the Avatar Legends Nexus code that unlocks the Starter Set adventures and content on Demiplane!

The Starter Set will only be at Target for a limited time. After that time period, the Starter Set will be available at other stores, including friendly local game stores, other game distributors, and our webstore. So if you can’t get to Target or order from them online right now, don’t lose hope! There can still be a Starter Set in your future!
Getting it Internationally
If you’re not in the United States, we still want you to get your copy of the Starter Set! The Starter Set will be available internationally through local stores or via online shopping, including through our webstore, starting on April 12th. We’ll have more information about how to buy it direct from our webstore in April, but we’d love it if you let your friendly local game store know that they can order copies through their local distributors in advance of that April 12th street date.

Hey Team Avatar! Thank you for your patience as we delayed a week to get as much in order as we could for this update! It’s a bit of a long one but we’re excited to dig in and talk about where we go from here!
Shipping Updates & Apology
Good news, everyone! Despite many bumps on the road, all regions except Asia, Africa, and the Middle East—and a few outstanding orders in the EU—are complete! Over 80,000 packages have made their way into the hands of backers, and we are overjoyed to see pictures and videos of you all enjoying your rewards!

Also…if you are a Russian, Belarusian, or Ukrainian backer, we cannot currently ship to you due to the ongoing war. Please email us directly at [email protected] and we’ll discuss options with you!
Before we get into further updates, we want to take a moment to apologize to those impacted by the multiple shipping issues we’ve encountered throughout the process. To everyone whose package has been damaged, delayed, or lost—or who has been impacted by the mishandling of VAT or customs paperwork—we’re deeply sorry. We know it’s a frustrating and disappointing experience when something goes wrong with receiving your pledge. We are committed to making sure everyone receives their rewards in good condition and will continue to send out replacement packages for anyone who needs one.
As many of you may know, our shipping partner for the UK, EU, and US has been the source of many issues in regard to these delays, damages, and errors. Privately, we did several reference checks for the company and were assured by industry insiders of the professionalism and capabilities of the company. While our partner was able to address the incredible volume that this campaign required—shipping 60,000 packages in just a few weeks—they have not been able to address many of the problems that have arisen in a timely manner.
For these reasons, we are working to handle all the outstanding orders—including reshipment or replacement orders—through new partners or our own warehouses as much as possible.
We especially want to thank our EU backers for their patience. We are working hard to ensure all outstanding packages go out and our team, especially our CEO, is spending every day working to solve these issues. We apologize for all of these delays and issues, and we have appreciated your kindness in correspondence with our team.
Replacements for damaged or missing items are shipping in the next 5-10 days and tracking information will be sent as these packages are put in the mail. Our warehouse will be taking over as many of the replacement shipments as we can so we can ensure they aren’t sent in damaged or weak boxes and are packed properly. If you have been waiting to have your ticket addressed, please continue to be patient; we’re working through the last outstanding tickets this week!
Digital Assets
We are continuing work on our digital assets so you can enjoy the game online! In a previous update, we announced Roll20 character sheets and we are excited to say they are ready for you to use in your games! Roll20 character sheets are available on the website now! You can run your games using the Roll20 digital assets by selecting Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game as your game when you set it up.
In addition, Demiplane is continuing to work on the character resources for the Avatar Legends Nexus. Once they have those resources ready for you to try, we’ll post an update here! For those folks who still haven’t claimed their Demiplane code, you now have until March 31st to claim your code! We are currently working on other digital assets for Avatar Legends. That said, they have to pass through many rounds of approval before we can tell you about them! We know many of you have requests for specific assets. We’ve heard you and are considering all options, but currently can’t confirm what will come next. As always, once we can, we’ll let you know with an update!
All-Star Actual Play
After several rounds of approvals, the All-Star Actual Play is in its final approval stage! We apologize that this isn’t quite ready for all of you today, but it will be ready very shortly! The approval process, as you all know from this project, can sometimes be a long process of edits and changes and resubmitting. To ensure this is the best actual play for the project, it has taken longer than originally estimated.
That said, it should be available within the next few weeks. Once it is, we will post an update with all the details on how you can access it! We’re so excited for you to finally get to see the AP and can’t wait to send that update in the upcoming weeks!
The adventure for the actual play is in the process of editing and approval. Once it finishes that process, we will be sending you the PDF of the adventure!
Upcoming Avatar Legends Releases
While we’re wrapping up this Kickstarter, we know many of you have been eager for news of future supplements and other Avatar Legends: the Roleplaying Game releases! We promise you that when those products launch—either for direct order or for preorder—we will let you know by posting an update here!
That said, stay tuned for some exciting news in the coming weeks for the Starter Set (available exclusively from Target) and for the Republic City supplement! Both of these products have new content for your game and we can’t wait to share the exciting details in the weeks to come!

Asia, Middle East, and Africa Shipping Update

Hey Team Avatar! We’re very excited to say that Asia, the Middle East, and Africa are finally shipping! These regions all ship from the same fulfillment center in Asia, and we’re delighted to hear from our shipping partner that everything has finally cleared customs and packages are beginning to go out!
Asia, Middle East, and Africa Shipping
Our fulfillment partner for these regions has begun packing and shipping! Packages will begin going out today!
You will receive tracking information via email from Backerkit. This email will go to the email address associated with your Backerkit account.
Once you receive your tracking information, your package is ready to ship and will be sent out within a few days. You will receive your carrier information at this time.
Packages should arrive within two weeks after you receive your shipping notification.
Your order will include everything from your pledge and any add-ons you added during the campaign or in Backerkit after the fact.
Reporting An Issue
Shipping is happening but sometimes things go wrong. This can include a missing item in your order, a damaged item in your order, or your package not showing up. For those issues, please follow these instructions:
If your shipping notification is showing a different address than you entered in Backerkit, please use this form.
If you’re missing an item from your order, use this form. Please include what item is missing from your order specifically (ex: core book, combat deck, standard dice, etc.)
If you have a damaged item in your order, use this form. Please include a picture of the damaged item, showing how it is damaged.
If your order has been reported delivered but is missing or stolen, please use this form.
If your order is lost, please wait at least two weeks from the time you received your tracking information and check your tracking information for any updates. After that time has expired, please fill out this form.
Leaving a comment on this update, in the regular comment section, sending us a private message on Kickstarter, or emailing us directly will not be considered reporting an issue. You must use the methods above.
Some things to keep in mind before you report an issue:

Hey Team Avatar! We know things in the EU haven’t been going smoothly, so we’re here with an update on what’s been going on and what to expect in the coming days!
EU Shipping Updates
We apologize for the continued delays that this region has been experiencing. While our shipping partner assured us things would go smoothly, it’s become very clear they are struggling deeply to fulfill orders and meet the deadlines they agreed to. We have been communicating the information they gave us to you, and have spent the last week and weekend working with them to ensure they can meet their agreements with us.
These delays are absolutely unacceptable and we extend our deepest apologies to this region for the ongoing frustration and issues. We know how difficult and exasperating this has been. Thank you to everyone who has replied with patience, support, and encouragement, both on here and directly to our staff members. It is deeply appreciated as we work to resolve this issue.
After working extended hours and through this weekend, orders are going out for this region. If you are in the EU region and have not yet received a shipping notification, you should receive one this week. They have informed us that they are working to bring in more staff to ensure the remaining EU orders will go out, with upgraded shipping via UPS on us, by the end of day on Friday.
