Happy August, Team Avatar! We are back from Gen Con with another update for you amazing folks! We hope you’ve been having an amazing summer and we can’t wait to share what all has been happening at Magpie Games HQ!
Printing & Product Updates
We’ve recently heard from our book printer and are absolutely thrilled to say that things are moving well! We are on schedule! We realize that’s not as exciting as the printing being done, but we are beyond excited that nothing is further delayed and that printing is going beautifully.
All of the accessories for the game have shipped out! We should be receiving them soon and then will share pictures of them once they reach our warehouses. From there we will be waiting on the books to send you your amazing Avatar Legends packages!
We should receive more solid shipping dates for the books before our next update, and once we have them we will let everyone know. Once we have solid dates, we will send an email saying it’s time to ship and lock down Backerkit. To that end, please remember to update your Backerkit if you have moved or will be moving soon. We will let you know soon the cut-off date for updating your Backerkit!

Preorders & PDF Release
We have many excited folks following these updates eager to get ahold of the PDF or get in on some preorders. Right now, PDF releases will be closely tied to when the product begins shipping, which means later this year. Preorders will also open then. We will announce this on the Kickstarter, our newsletter, and via social media.
If you have a friend or nemesis who is eager to get the game, let them know it’ll be the end of this year and to follow us to get notified!
Actual Play & VTT
We’re excited to say that the All-Star Actual Play is nearly done editing. Once it’s done, the video will be sent in for approvals. Once it’s through approvals, we’ll begin the process of uploading it to send to you!
Right now our VTT is still in development. We have explored a few avenues and will have more details in the coming months for everyone. This has been a long process but things are looking great and once we can give you more details, we will!

Many of you signed up to run Avatar Legends with us at Gen Con. We are thrilled to say that because of our amazing GMs, we ran over 300 games at the convention! Hundreds of people got to play in one of the incredible Avatar Legends games we hosted!
A huge shout out and thank you to those amazing GMs for running hours of games and being excellent GMs! We couldn’t have done it without you! We hope everyone is recovering and taking time to rest after such an epic weekend!

Hey, Team Avatar! It’s time for our July update and we are excited to dig in and talk about all the cool stuff happening over at Magpie Games HQ! Here are all the updates we have on the project, including news on printing and the All-Star Actual Play!
All-Star Actual Play Updates
We’re super excited to announce that the filming for the All-Star Actual Play has finished and it’s off to editing to make it a beautiful, seamless video! Our very own Lili Sparx, one of our Curated Play Program GMs, ran an amazing game for an all-star cast of incredible players!
We were so excited to work with the epic Avatarverse alums Jennie Kwan (Suki in Avatar: the Last Airbender) and Dante Basco (Zuko in Avatar: the Last Airbender) as well as the ever lovely Becca Scott (Good Time Society, South Park)! To round out our party of heroes, we also invited the incredible Ify Nwadiwe (Critical Role) to join the group!
You may notice there was a change of cast from the original Kickstarter announcement; Satine Phoenix will no longer be involved in the project.
This all-star cast for the AP did a fantastic job of diving into Avatarverse and played an epic game! We can’t wait for you to see the results! While the video has been shot, it’s going to take a while for it to go through editing and be finalized. Once that work is done, we’ll have a much clearer date on when it will be released to you and then available to non-backers!

Here’s a peek at what An Urgent Request adventure is all about:
The renowned Air Nomad Rioshon has uncovered a plot to discredit Princess Zeisan and her Air Nomad teachings! However, the nun and the princess have a past and Rioshon can’t just go to Zeisan and tell her about the plot. Instead, she enlists the help of the heroes to warn the princess and foil whatever nefarious plot their enemies have planned.
Printing Updates & Play Materials
We are delighted to announce printing has begun! The proofing stage is complete and our printer is beginning the enormous task of printing all of these amazing books! We have mentioned previously this will take several months and that still holds true. This is simply due to the sheer volume of books we’re printing. As our printer progresses through the order, they’ll let us know a shipping estimate which we will share with you!
The printer-friendly play materials are now available for you in Backerkit! This includes all the playbooks from both books and the additional play materials, like GM materials! You can grab all of these play materials via Backerkit, the same way you did for the original play materials. For ease of access, you can always log in to Backerkit and then use this link to see your Digital Rewards that are currently available:
Once we get close to shipping, we will post an update asking you to finalize your Backerkit. This will be your last chance to update your address. If you have moved since the Kickstarter happened, it’s a good idea to log into your Backerkit and update your address. You can do this at any time until we lock it down.

Printing Updates, Final Core Book PDFs

Happy June, Team Avatar! We hope you’re doing well, playing awesome games, and having a great Summer! We’re back with an update on the progress of everything. Here’s what we’ve been doing over at Magpie Games HQ!
Printing Updates
Good news, Team Avatar! The printer is now running at full capacity! This means things will be going faster and very soon, we will have a shiny new updated timeline for you! We wish we had one for this update but sadly that hasn’t happened yet! It’s going to take them a little time to sort through the backlog and give us a solid timeline.
Once we have heard from the printer on an updated timeline, we’ll be back to give you some more news! We’re so excited to hear that the printer has returned to full capacity and will be printing your books soon!
Final PDFs
We have been tweaking the PDFs for the core book and Wan Shi Tong’s Adventure Guide as we go through printing proofs. This process means there have been lots of little updates to the PDFs as we finish them up and adjust them after finding errors or issues with the proofs, like fixing typos or color correcting. We’re happy to say that the final version of the core book will be available by June 17th!
These PDFs will be uploaded to Drivethrurpg before June 17th. There is no new content in the PDFs, just corrections we made based on the print proof process.
You don’t need to go to Backerkit to get this new PDF. It will be directly available in your DriveThruRPG library before June 17th. You can access the file directly at this URL:

Updated Wan Shi Tong PDFs
We want to make sure you have the most up-to-date PDFs, so this is just a brief update to let you know that updated files will be available soon. After some very minor changes, such as typo fixes and small corrections, we are uploading a new Wan Shi Tong PDF. These PDFs will be uploaded to Drivethrurpg before June 3rd. There is no new content in the PDFs, just corrections we made based on your and proofreader's feedback.

We are in the middle of finishing the edits to the Wan Shi Tong’s Adventure Guide PDF and thus the links haven’t been working for a few weeks as we prepare to switch them over. This happened with the Core Book preview files as well! But never fear! Your files are still available via DrivethruRPG!

Printing Updates
Unfortunately, we have some regrettable news. The printer we’re working with is currently functioning at about 30% capacity due to Covid lockdowns. This means they can’t give us a solid timeline on when the product will finish printing and when it’ll be sent to us. Even at full capacity, it will take several months to print all of the books because of how many amazing backers supported this project! Sadly with the reduced capacity, it may take longer.
We are continuing to work with them to ensure we have the most up to date information and will continue to communicate that to you as it comes in.
For now we can’t say how much the delivery will shift and we apologize we can’t give you a solid timeline. We’d rather not promise something we can’t hit with so many unknowns. So much is in flux right now due to Covid and its impacts on materials and shipping. We are doing our best to make hard decisions and navigate the tumultuous printing landscape. We appreciate you understanding and being supportive during these struggles!
Print Preview
Despite the printing being delayed, we have some exciting things to show you! Our printer did send the preview copies of the game and its accessories. Please take a look at these beautiful books that will be coming to you once everything is ready!
These are the first full printed proofs we’ve received from our printer. There are definitely some changes we’re going to be making to ensure the colors are correct and the books look spectacular, but we wanted to give you a look at this step of the process, and share how amazing they look even with some fixes needed!
Small Updates
Virtual Tabletop: A few people have been asking about the VTT. We can’t release any details as everything is being worked through with various parties. But once we can, we promise we will. It is in the works and we haven’t forgotten about it. So please stay tuned and we’ll drop that information as soon as we’re able!
All-Star Actual Play: The All-Star AP is going to be filming next month with a likely release date of the fall. Once we have filmed and have some stills from the shoot, we’ll give you some more information and insight on when you can expect the AP to land in your inboxes!
